ROTIMI AMAECHI IS HUNGRY FOR POWER NOT FOOD – NYESOM WIKE

Rotimi Amaechi is hungry for power not food — Nyesom Wike.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has taken a swipe at former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, saying his former ally’s recent comments are driven by a thirst for political power—not physical hunger.

Wike’s reaction follows remarks made by Amaechi at his 60th birthday celebration in Abuja, where the former Rivers State governor declared that “we are all hungry,” and suggested that the opposition could remove President Bola Tinubu from office.

“If you are not hungry, I am,” Amaechi said. “For us the opposition, if you want us to remove the man in power, we can remove him.” He went on to reference his activism as a student, recalling protests against military leaders Ibrahim Babangida and Muhammadu Buhari, and how student solidarity once transcended regional divides.

“As students, we organized Tai Solarin’s protest against Babangida. We shut down ABU, UNN, UNILAG and others. There was no North or South, just unity. But today, the minds of young people have been poisoned—they can’t even liberate themselves,” Amaechi said.

In a sharp rebuttal, Wike dismissed Amaechi’s comments as politically motivated, stating: “Amaechi is not hungry for food. He is hungry for power.”

I ONLY UNDERSTOOD REAL POVERTY AFTER BECOMING EMIR, SANUSI LAMIDO EMIR OF KANO.

The Emir of Kano and former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, says he truly grasped the reality of poverty only after ascending the throne.

Speaking at a public lecture themed “Weaponization of Poverty as a Means of Underdevelopment: A Case Study of Nigeria”, Sanusi noted that many Nigerian elites are disconnected from the daily struggles of the poor.

“As an economist and former CBN Governor, I saw poverty in numbers. But I didn’t understand it until I became Emir,” he said. “When you visit villages and see the water they drink, the dilapidated schools, and the absence of basic infrastructure, it hits differently.”

He questioned the priorities of leadership in the country, pointing out the contrast between urban development projects and the lack of basic amenities in rural areas.

“Do we love the people or just love ruling over them?” he asked. “While cities enjoy overhead and underpasses, rural communities can’t access hospitals. We are in a crisis, and our focus should be on how to get out.”

Sanusi urged leaders to lead with empathy and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those they serve.

CARDI B FUMES AT OFFSET OVER SPOUSAL SUPPORT

Rapper Cardi B fumes at Offset over spousal support request, reveals he hasn’t provided financial support for their three children in over eight months.

Cardi B unleashed a f¥rious tirade against her estranged husband, Offset, after he requested spousal support in their ongoing divorce proceedings.

During a heated session on X Spaces on Friday, May 30, the rapper accused Offset of failing to provide any financial support for their three children over the past eight months.

Visibly emotional, Cardi B blasted Offset for portraying her as a de@dbeat mother, calling him a “f—ing b—h” and saying she has been solely responsible for their children’s expenses, including tuition and extracurricular activities.

She also denied Offset’s claims that she was preventing him from seeing their kids, saying he had missed multiple planned visits and had only seen their four-month-old daughter, Blossom, a handful of times.

“I want you to d+e slow,” Cardi B declared during the rant. “When you d+e, you gotta think of me.” The outburst follows Offset’s legal response earlier this month, in which he requested alimony and joint custody.

Cardi B had initially filed for divorce in August, her second time seeking separation, requesting primary custody of their children: Kulture (6), Wave (3), and Blossom (4 months). She later amended her petition to exclude child support, saying she wants to end the marriage without further entanglement.

The last known time Offset saw the children, according to Cardi, was at his son Kody’s birthday party in March. She claims the Migos rapper objected to seeing the kids at a hotel, as she does not permit him to visit their New Jersey home.

Cardi’s public rant has reignited tensions between the former couple, whose six-year marriage continues to unravel in a very public spotlight.

[ News ] Iran Appoints New Military Leaders After Israeli Airstrikes Kill Senior Commanders

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has announced the appointment of new senior military commanders.

This comes after the deaths of key security officials in a series of Israeli airstrikes.

The reported airstrikes, which occurred early Friday, resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking military leaders, including the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Mohammad Bagheri; Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami; and General Gholam-Ali Rashid, who headed the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.

In response, Khamenei appointed Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi as the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Mohammad Pakpour as Commander of the IRGC, and General Ali Shadmani as head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.

Prior to their new roles, Mousavi led Iran’s regular army, Pakpour commanded the IRGC Ground Force, and Shadmani served as deputy coordinator at Khatam al-Anbiya.

The strikes also reportedly resulted in the deaths of six Iranian nuclear scientists, including Mohammad-Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoun Abbasi, along with an unspecified number of civilians.

In an official statement, Khamenei condemned the attacks and warned that Israel would face “severe punishment,” referring to the incident as a “crime against Iran.”

Don’t you see your country, that Nigerians are going through very difficult times? What are your impacts in your various states and communities? Can you beat your chest and say that you’ve empowered 5k, 10k youths or your fans who stream your music and made you who you are today?

“Burnaboy you were once a comrade who used to call out bad government with your music, but as soon you made more money you abandoned all of that and start to acquire cars and show off.
